The Apse in the Vine's Grip

About this wallpaper
A rounded apse strangled by giant vines, the altar buried under green weight, light filtering through leaves onto cracked fresco plaster, the vines’ thick cables splitting the apse’s stone ribs, fallen plaster revealing dark brick beneath, the jungle’s slow erasure of the sacred geometry.
Built on deep black, the image keeps its ruins mood through tonal depth rather than pure darkness. Light is used sparingly, which is what gives the composition its weight.
Designed as a phone background, it balances legibility and atmosphere: icons stay readable against the darker regions while the composition holds up at full brightness. Free download in full resolution.
