Aurora Beneath the Earth

About this wallpaper

Ribbons of green and violet light rippling across a vast cavern ceiling like an underground aurora, cast by colonies of luminous minerals in the rock, dark stalagmites silhouetted below against the glow, the light ribbons slowly shifting and folding overhead, the cavern floor lost in darkness beneath the spectacle.

The palette stays in deep black, layered so the eye moves from the darkest corners toward whatever faint light the scene allows. It reads as aurora without tipping into flat black — there is always texture in the shadows.

As a phone wallpaper it sits well behind icons and widgets — dark enough to keep text readable, detailed enough to reward a second look. Free download in full resolution.
