The Corrie Behind the Veil

About this wallpaper

A glacial corrie veiled in driving storm, rock walls appearing and vanishing behind curtains of sleet, a dark tarn glinting briefly at the corrie’s floor between gusts, the headwall’s black cliffs looming through the murk, the storm’s roar almost visible in the moving white.

The palette stays in deep black, dark slate blue, layered so the eye moves from the darkest corners toward whatever faint light the scene allows. It reads as mountains without tipping into flat black — there is always texture in the shadows.

As a phone wallpaper it sits well behind icons and widgets — dark enough to keep text readable, detailed enough to reward a second look. Free download in full resolution.
