The Moor Drowns Beautifully

About this wallpaper

An endless heather moor drowning in downpour, dark purple blooms beaten flat by the rain, water sheeting across black peat in silver braids, low clouds scraping the ground and hiding the horizon, the downpour’s grey curtain marching steadily forward across the drowned heath.

The rain feeling comes through in the color work: deep black, blended so transitions feel natural instead of posterized. Darkness here is a gradient, not a void.

On a phone screen the dark regions keep app labels crisp while the finer details emerge on closer inspection — the kind of wallpaper that doesn’t get old after a week. Free download in full resolution.
